2009 Season and History
The 2009 season marked one of the most successful years in team history. The team won three of their last four games to finish second in Southeast Division. The Jethawks then defeated Unity two games to one and Hempfield East in a two game sweep to capture the Division Playoff Championship. That qualified the team for District 31 Championship Series and a return trip to the Region 7 tournament. The Jethawks swept Irwin to capture its first District Championsip since 1993. The team then advanced to the Region Final Three before bowing to Mifflin County, the eventual Regional Tournament Champions who would go on to finish third in the state, to finish the season with a 23-9 record.
The playoff berth was the team's 18th consecutive. They have won their Division 7 of the last 11 seasons. The Regional appearance was Latrobe's tenth, which ties them with Murrysville for the most ever in Westmoreland County. The teams twenty Region victories place them in a tie for first all time in Westmoreland County. The Region 7 Tournament began in 1974.
The 2010 season stands to another promising season, that with hard work and dedication, the team should continue to push towards the playoffs.

Coaches
A coach who is a good sport believes and teaches that athletic competition is an ethical pursuit, one that builds character and shapes lifetime attitudes. Coaches should be devoted to helping athletes develop a positive self-image and encourage teamwork. They should also promote respect for the rules, umpires, and opposing teams. Coaches should discourage all types of inappropriate behavior, while prohibiting taunting and other forms of intimidation.
